Lin Ratcliffe is a major Internet star. On Instagram, she has about 450,000 followers. People call her “banana girl” because she eats up to 50 bananas a day! According to Lin, this is the diet that keeps her fit.
She even created her own nutrition plan, called “Raw till 4” diet. Until 4 p.m., Lin eats only raw fruit, and for dinner, she has a vegan meal containing carbohydrates.
Lin claims that eating 50 bananas a day made her lost almost 20 kg and inspired many women to follow her example. But, is this diet really healthy?
Evangelina Mantzioris, a famous nutritionist, claims that diets like this are not good for the body because the body does not receive some of the most important minerals such as calcium, healthy fats and vitamins. Also, too much fructose that you get from fruit is equivalent of several cans of Coke a day.
“Raw till 4” diet is not supported by scientific facts, but its result is not in any way substantiated. Fruit is extremely important for nutrition, but only two servings a day are enough.
