A scar is a mark that is left on the skin after a wound or an injury to the surface of the skin has healed. Many people are uncomfortable about how their scars look and they can be a stain on a person’s overall personality. Scars are usually painless. There are many lotions and creams which you can find on the market, but there are natural remedies which are a much cheaper option and are equally effective in removing scars.
Lemon is loaded with vitamin C and citric acid which together have bleaching effect on the skin and can improve skin complexion. First, clean your skin well. Then dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and apply it on the scar. Let it act for 10 minutes, until it`s completely dry. Afterwards wash your skin with lukewarm water. Repeat the procedure every day until the scar starts to fade or completely disappears from the skin.
Olive oil is a rich source of fatty acids and vitamin E and K which have skin-lightening effects. Massage your scar with olive oil for five minutes or longer, and leave it overnight.
Baking soda has numerous beneficial effects on the skin, including peeling effect, removes dead cells and disinfects. Also, it is one of the best known natural micro-dermabrasion exfoliator. Combine baking soda with water in a ratio 5: 1 until you get a tick paste. Apply the paste on your scar and let it dry. Afterwards wash with lukewarm water. Repeat the treatment two or three times a week.
Honey is a natural skin moisturizer which has the ability to speed up the process of wound healing, skin regeneration and help the scars to fade away. Mix 2 tbspns of honey with 2 tbspns of baking soda and apply the mixture on the scarred tissue. Dip a small piece of cloth, such as towel, in hot water and put it on the place where you have previously applied the honey-baking soda mixture. Leave like that until the towel cools and then wipe the mixture off the skin.
For acne scars, make mixture of 2 tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon of baking soda.
